Cause Related Marketing (CRM) is a mutually beneficial relationship that occurs when a charity endorses a corporation’s service or product in exchange for a portion of the proceeds or some other agreed-upon dividend or donation. The charity receives much needed financial support, and the corporation’s brand acquires further credibility and presence in the consumer’s mind.
Corporations have used CRM in the past as just one way to target specific market segments. Now, CRM is a necessity as more and more Canadian consumers make purchase decisions based on social issues. By using CRM and partnering with the Missing Children Society of Canada, you can bolster sales of a new product, strengthen your brand’s identity, and garner publicity for your company.
