Get Involved

Every year, over 55,000 children are reported missing in Canada.

That's an average of 1 child every 10 minutes.  Together, we can help Light the Way Home.

Each May, MCSC's annual 'Light the Way Home' campaign shows searching families that we all stand with them in their hopeful search.

"Our searching families are faced with a terrifying reality every single day.  Their unimaginable pain drives us to keep the active, front-line search going, and to show them that all of Canada stands by their sides," expressed Amanda Pick, Executive Director of MCSC and a mother of two.

This year, our Light the Way Home campaign reached out to Canadians with some opportunites to personally connect with the organization's continued search for missing children.

Light a Candle on May 25th
The public was invited to join the country in lighting a candle at 8:00pm on the evening of May 25th, National Missing Children's Day.  Through this simple act, all Canadians and their families could make a personal connection with the hope and commitment we share with searching families everywhere.

We thank all of you who took part in this touching tribute, and to all those who officially pledged online to light a candle through our website and Facebook page.

Send a "Message of Hope"
Our 2010 LTWH campaign also included an opportunity for the public to directly show their support for our searching families.  Through our campaign, Canadians were asked to send a personal "Message of Hope" to our searching families.

We are thrilled with the response - receiving over 100 heartfelt and touching Messages of Hope.  These messages will be collected and shared with our searching families as a show of support in their continued search.

We invite you to reflect upon a selection of the messages we received from across the country.  If you would still like to submit a personal "Message of Hope", please feel free to contact us.

Thank you to WestJet for supporting Light the Way Home 2010!
We were excited to once again have WestJet take part in our annual Light the Way Home campaign.

On May 25th, National Missing Children's Day, WestJet featured our LTWH images and messages through their TV monitors and their on-hold phone system - helping us to reach thousands of people across the country.

Thank you again WestJet for continuing to support MCSC on every level!
