Thanks to the generous supporters of the MCSC 2008 Charity Golf Tournament hosted by Servpro, the sold-out event, which took place on Wednesday, July 16th, raised over $70,000. This revenue will enable MCSC to continue the on-going search for missing children.
144 golfers were treated to a warm, sunny morning on the prestigious Heritage Pointe golf course. The tournament started at 9 a.m. with the last teams coming off course around 2:30 p.m. to enjoy the banquet in the clubhouse.
Guests were introduced to Patrick LaLande, MCSC guest speaker. Patrick described how he and his partner, Melissa Engdhal (formerly Melissa Hawach), dealt with the abduction of Melissa’s daughters, Hannah and Cedar in 2006. He shared how the Missing Children Society of Canada assisted the family in the recovery of the girls who had been separated from their mother for six months.
Following a rowdy game of Heads or Tails, the generous crowd made quick work of the live and silent auctions, which included WestJet flights, a patio set, a BBQ and much more! Congratulations to the following proximity game winners; Dan Myer, Scott Coe, Catherine Dyer, and Verne Latta.
MCSC would like to thank all sponsors, supporters and volunteers involved in this event.
With your help, MCSC will continue providing a foundation of strength and hope for searching families.
