Abducted Girl Located Safe – Partners Work Together To Bring Girl Home
Every now and again we are able to share a story that not only ends well, but shows the amazing abilities and character of those helping to serve and better our communities…
On August 3, 2016, an 8 year-old girl was abducted from her home in Calgary, Alberta. Through the course of the investigation it was learned that she had been abducted by a family member and that the suspect was driving west through British Columbia. The Calgary Police Service, BC RCMP and the Abbotsford Police Department quickly had traffic stops in place and soon that little girl was located safe. The Calgary Police Service contacted the Missing Children Society of Canada to see if we could assist with the reunification of the child. Our INCREDIBLE partners at WestJet worked hard and with amazing speed to organize their teams in both Calgary and Abbotsford. These WestJetters ensured that the girls father got on the last flight out of Calgary so he could be reunited with his little girl as soon as possible, hold her safe in his arms and know that she is alright.
Today we are extending our gratitude to the police who worked so hard to find this little girl and to our partners at WestJet who made it possible for her to be reunited with her family only hours after she had been located. Thank you for all that you do!
